Press Release

This morning Gary Martinez a lifelong resident of Mora, New Mexico successfully filed his papers to run for New Mexico House of Representatives District 40 as a Republican. This is the first time in a decade that a Republican has filed to run for House of Representatives in the area of Mora, San Miguel, Colfax, and Rio Arriba counties. Martinez is a graduate of Mora High and a has a Bachelors Degree in education from New Mexico Highlands University. He has worked as a welder and carpenter for five years, then went on to teach for tweenty years. He currently is director of vocational studies at Luna Community College. He also has his own small ranch in Mora that he operates on his free time. His platform is education, water, and jobs, jobs, jobs,. Mr. Martinez can be reached at 505-617-6020 for any other comments or interviews. As chairman of the Republican Party of Mora County it is exciting to have a great qualified candidate. Mr. Martinez has a lot of work to do in a highly democrat district, but I believe he can become successful in his bid since he can relate to everybody from ranchers, to teachers, to the average New Mexican.

Thank You

Frank F. Trambley
